To maintain customer relation as well as to streamline the sales activities, one process that must be cohered to concerns the ordering of goods or services by customers to ensuring everyone who needs to be involved is aware of the order, and that the customer is invoiced on time. This is called sales order processing. Sales order processing starts from the enquiry or leads received from the customer and end with invocing of the material ordered. Order tracking, coordinating with other department like procurement, production and inventory must be the part of process and ERP should be capable to ensure the smooth flow information across the system.

► Enquiry from customers : record enquiries received from the customer for further action. Product desining, costing, searching the availability and serviceability of material etc may the actions followed by the enquiry. This may vary business to business as per the nature of business and management policies.

►Quotation Submition : submiting quotation to the customer, follow-up, negotiation and finalization are to be recorderd properly.

►Sales Order Generation : On receipt of the purchase order from the customer, sales order should be generated along with terms pricribed and finalized with the customer. Sales order should includes the products or services that to be supplied, cost and time of delivery along with other details.

►Procureing / Production order : on receipt of sales order procurement or production department should be informed properly to make available the materil on time.

►Material delivery to customer :Timely delivery of ordered material should be ensured.

►Sales Invocing : at the end of the order processing activities sales invoice should be generated for the material delivered. ERP system will ensure the smooth flow of information between the department and will minimize the manual communication.
